Taiwan’s blossoming creativity is also evident in the wearable art, from wedding gowns to a Taiwanese young designer Jason Wu designing for First Lady of US, Mrs. Obama. This year, we would like to present Goji Lin’s contemporary collections, which are characterized with reinvented Eastern elements incorporated into his dresses. His collections resonate loudly with this year’s festival theme, “a New Journey.”   Clothing from his Tao collection, reflecting new definition of traditional philosophy on everyday wear is presented. Recycled materials given new lives are also to be found as part of dresses on the catwalk. There will be two supermodels from the top modeling agency from Taiwan to lead the runway show. The show will be emceed byMiss Chinese Vancouver of 2005 from this agency also.

Goji Lin started out as a mechanical engineering graduate. He gave up his job after working for a couple of years and went to London to pursue his interest in Fashion design at age 32. Goji Lin’s innovating ability of marrying seemingly conflict concepts can also be found in his choice of venue to present his collection. In 2007 he used courtyard of a temple as his runway highlighting the clash between old and contemporary, yet, at the same time, complimenting modern dresses with the traditional setting.
