2009 marks a significant milestone for the organizers of TAIWANfest. We will be celebrating its 20th year in Vancouver and its 4th year in Toronto. Years of transformation, multitude of artists' creations and thousands of volunteer hours have shaped TAIWANfest into what it is today.
Continuing the direction of fusion‐focused artistic expression from past festivals, this year we will be exploring the evolution of the marriage concept from the multicultural and cross-generational perspectives on tradition, value and ideology. The theme — "A New Journey" — comes from the idea that a festival, like a marriage, builds around the stories of affection and gathering of differences; all attributes of a successful journey.
