台灣是一個美食王國,日本料理、韓國料理、泰國料理......,各式各樣的料理在這邊都可以得到一個完美的融合。台灣人很厲害,不論是哪一國的料理都可以變成「台式作風」,吃慣了台灣的口味,到別的國家長住,心裡面其實會有一種比較的心態。哪裡好吃?哪裡划算?哪裡是我覺得最不虛此行的食物?每天都在心中默默打著分數。

2010TELUS研科台灣文化節「鄧麗君紀念歌唱比賽」報名開跑囉!由於許多民眾反映多倫多的歌唱比賽無需報名費,溫哥華應該比照辦理。因此主辦單位為了讓更多人參加,一起來懷念這個華人中的傳奇歌手,溫哥華的報名方法現在已稍作調整,即日起溫哥華地區要報名鄧麗君紀念歌唱比賽的民眾將無需支付報名費,已經報名的民眾,大會將會把報名費退回,除此之外,參加報名者還有台灣文化節限量Super趴趴購的優惠劵兩張可以拿!那麼好康的活動,當然要大家一起來參與!

... and then Indie Music Happened - Part 1

There're a few things that make my mornings extra great: sunlight, timely buses, and music. Okay, the sunlight and bus are a bit hard to ask for especially when I am in Vancouver, but I know music will be always available. Like many people, my music library consists of artists that are prominent on mainstream media, and like many people, they are the only type of music I listen to. A year ago I’d say that’s totally fine, but now I’d say I wish I explored around more.

So, what happened? Indie music happened.

Storytelling of Teresa Teng

For 2010 TAIWANfest, we have organized a series of programs for the 15th anniversary of Teresa Teng's memorial. One of the features is storytelling of Teresa Teng that is presented by one of Taiwan's top music historians, Kun-Cheng Lee. He is going to share many untold stories of Teresa Teng including her music background and her career - exploring Teresa Teng in a way you have never experienced before.
